How we calculate marks/grades

I use Home Logic to find out my grades.

Home Logic gives me a percent to the nearest hundredths place.

My classes give different weights to different categories.  For example, my assignments are worth more than quizzes.

In each category, the Home Logic program calculates an average of my marks.

My goal if to get a 80.00% in my Math class.

Calculators

Calculators are all around us--they are in our heads, in our phones, in our computers, in cash registers, they are in apps.

Calculators are useful because:

• They can add, subtract, multiply, divide, find square roots, calculate exponents.
• If you don't know the answer off by heart, you can use a calculator.
• Calculators eliminate human error--because they are always right. 
• Calculators allow us to figure out math quicker

Minecraft Review

I give Minecraft a 5 out of 5 stars!

I like the following things about Minecraft:

• There is an unlimited sandbox where you can make anything you imagine.
• In survival mode, it is kind of like the story of Adam and Eve, where they had nothing and had to live off of the resources.
• On the PC version, you can world edit and when you do stuff like trolling, you can always undo it

Minecraft relates to math because:

• When you make the nether portal--it's a 4x4 and this relates to area and perimeter
• There is lots of counting in Minecraft, for example, how much food you have
• You need to look at density of the items--what's weak and strong
• You to keep track of how many hearts you have
